Hello........I live in the small town of Freedom, Wisconsin with my husband Rick, of twenty-five years, and our three sons. I am very happy being a mom, but I wanted to find something I would love to do, & still be able to stay at home when my sons were little.
I was good at painting and drawing in school, and tried many different mediums. After seeing articles in the Better Homes & Gardens-Collection books, about many different Santa artists….. ....I knew what I wanted to try.
It was a combination of all the things (I love to do). I couldn't wait to make a Santa……….. I bought some sculpey clay and tried to sculpt a head----- it looked so strange. Starting out, my Santa's had such serious faces. I didn't like them……… I thought Santa should have a more kind & gentle look. I was about to give up on it, but enjoyed it so much I stayed with it…….starting over lots of times, until I finally made a head I was happy with.
Since then…… I think-- my Santa's now have warmer & happier faces. Finding this art form was the perfect choice for me, because not only do I love Sculpting, but coming up with the different designs, & sewing their clothing is just so relaxing & satisfying to me. Especially when I see a Santa come to life.
I have finally found something I really love to do, and can't wait to begin
