Hello to all! My name is Tammy Dudley and I live in a small town in northern Minnesota. Winters get long, and days get cold. I have lived here all of my life. I love wildlife, crafting, sculpting, and riding my horse. I am married to a wonderful man and I have 3 beautiful children. A son who is 14, and 2 daughters, 12 and 5.
I began sculpting in December 2001. It is a funny thing how I did. I started taking an anti-depressant in December and one of the beginning side affects is insomnia. I was up at 2:00 in the a.m. watching HGTV (I am an addict to that channel; drives my family nuts). There was a lady on that was creating Santas and snowmen and I thought, "Hey, I can do that." Well, needless to say, I haven't stopped. My collection of toys and sleighs , odds and ends to help me create my Santa's are over crowding my home. But, It is fun having Christmas in the home year round.
I love watching my creations come to life. I started with Santas, and now sculpt elves and fairies also. I use recycled clothing , fleece ,faux fur, suede, satin and whatever else works for what I am creating at the time. I like using sheep's wool for the hair and beard. But I plan in extending that to anything else that I can get that will work. Each one of my Santas are unique in there own way. I don't know who they will become until I finish the head. Then, the just have that look on there face that tells me who they are to be. I get a lot of help from my family also. My son is very creative and gives me great ideas.
I hope you enjoy my creations. Each one has a lot of my heart and soul put into them. I want Santa to put a smile on your face when you bring him into your home. May the joy of Christmas be in your hearts all year round.
